[The morning had a dullness to it, a sort of dreariness that just seemed to make time go slowly. Even nature seemed to be having a hard time getting started today. The clearing in the forest was still and quiet, except for the stirrings of an old man who was slowly coming back into consciousness. He has a long beard, and a far receded hair line. Despite his age, he is well muscled individual. As his eyes slowly open he stretches a bit and winces. There is a moment or two as he gazes around his surroundings, taking everything in and sizing it up.]
This is certainly a strange place to wake up. I don't recall drinking any wine yesterday.
[He strokes his beard thoughtfully for a moment. He gives another wince and stretches his back a little. It is clear something strange has happened. It is then he turns his head for a second, and then startled turns it again]
Wings?! Since when do I have wings?!
[He shakes his head a second, and gives his cheek a pinch. It would seem he wasn't sleeping. When he had journeyed to the spirit world before he had maintained his shape, though that was the closest approximation he could make]
Mmmmm. I could use a cup of tea, and perhaps a bit of breakfast. Although I suppose that would be a bit much to ask.
[His gaze goes to the book which had a strange look to it, curiously he moved forward and taps it and... the feed cuts out]

Ah...no...I’m a sage. I have studied magic throughout my life.
It is good to meet you as well, Iroh. I trust you are well enough to reach the village?

Ah, I am familiar with the term, but I believe it may mean something a little differently from my land. They are more learned individuals, who typically have knowledge in a variety of fields, including some of the other worldly.
[Iroh pauses in thought for a moment]
Ah-yes, I should be. Though a nudge in the right direction might be helpful.

Ah...that would be rather accurate. I have learned various fields of magic, though "otherworldly" is not one of them.
[Though dark magic could be considered "otherworldly", Saleh hasn't studied that field.]
[He then shifts in the direction of the village, ready to walk.]
Of course. The village is this way. Follow me.

[He straightens himself up and after taking a moment to brush the dirt off he begins following the man]

I can cast spells based from nature and light, and use staves for heaing, and causing and curing magical ailments.
Along with my magic, I also study Valega, where I absorb the sights and sounds of nature, and release my petty desires.
[Every human has such desires, but at least Saleh knows how to resist or otherwise manage them.]
[He begins to lead the way to the village.]

I see, I am not familiar with staves for healing, but utilizing nature to your advantage I have seen quite often. This Valega sounds a great deal like meditation, and some of the teachings of the Air Nomads of my world.
[Iroh follows along at a reasonable pace. He is moving a little slower than usual, but manages well enough]

Yes...I suppose you could call it that. They do seem quite similar.
So using nature to one's advantage...is that what "waterbending" is?
[Saleh moves slowly, glancing back occasionally to make sure Iroh is keeping up.]

"Avatar?" that is a term I'm certainly not familiar with...
[Soon, Saleh leads the way into the plaza.]
And here we are. The Welcome Center is there. [Pointing to the building.] They can help you find a place to stay, and provide more information about this world.

[Iroh looks around at the place. It certainly wasn't what he was accustomed to, but very few things in this place were. Learning more about this strange new land would be the first thing]
Ah, thank you Saleh. It was most kind of you to lead me here.
[He bows as is appropriate]
