[Iroh gives a pleasant smile as the video opens up. In front of him there is a pai-sho board. It was time to finally time to formalize a date and setting for something he proposed awhile back]

Hello everyone, as some of you may remember, I had inquired about the interest of learning the wonderful game of pai-sho back a couple of months ago. It seemed there was at least a fair amount of interest in such a thing, so I am proceeding as if there were.

[He takes a sip of tea, placing it down delicately before continuing]

I would like to have the first learning day on the second of March. I haven't seen any holidays then, and it seems a good time for it. It will be held at the Welcome Center, and I hope that we shall have a great turn out. I humbly ask those who already are familiar with the game to come by and assist those who are learning.

[He inclines his head politely for such a request]

If anyone else would like to contribute a bit of time to help with set up, or perhaps some snacks, I would most appreciate it.

[He gives a kindly smile]

That sounds wonderful! Should I make sure the tables are arranged in any specific way to make it easier for you and your friends to play before I leave my shift in the morning?

I think the tables should be fine as they are for the most part. You should stay and learn how to play.

Mmmmm, about what time are you expecting to hold the games? I may need to do some training and take a little nap beforehand so I don't lose too badly.

I expect we will begin in the early afternoon, shortly after lunchtime. That leaves you with a bit of time for a nap I believe?

Oh, moooore than enough time. I don't sleep forever just yet.

I plan to avoid that myself for at least awhile longer.

Good, because sleep is boring. You just sort of lie there and you miss all the fun.

That is the essence of it. I am fond of a pleasant nap though.

I'm fond of drawing on the faces of people who nap, but no one here really sleeps deeply enough to let me.

[Iroh has a chuckle at that]

I'll keep that in mind. I have pretty good control of my sleeping patterns.

Oooh, are you a heavy sleeper or a light one?

[Who would reveal that after being told of an enjoyment of writing on faces?]

I'm a good sleeper. I can fall asleep anywhere, something I picked up.

Mmm? Were you military?

I was. I'm retired now.

[he lets out a low hum of appreciation]

Which do you think is better - your time in the military or being retired?

I much prefer retirement, far less paperwork. Haha!

[Which gave an indication where he was in the hierarchy. Only higher ranked officers had to deal with all the numbers and logistics]

[Souji giggles at that, knowing all too well how much paperwork is the suckiest part of military maneuvers.]

I look forward to retirement then - the only paperwork I like is reading poetry or making paper animals out of it.

Oh yes, you were involved in the military as well?

[Poetry was a fine thing]

Yes, poetry can be quite inspiring when it is good.

Technically. We're a private protection force sent by our governmental leader to ensure the peace of the capital and the safety of our Emperor.

As for poetry, I think it's muuuch better when it's absolutely awful. Then it's both inspiring and hilarious.

I've heard of similar protection forces. Most recently the Kyoshi warriors became a sort of private protection force for my nephew.

[He laughs]

I get the hilarious part when it is bad, how is it inspiring?

[Kyoshi -- Suki. That memory brought up Sokka and for the briefest of moments, Souji is quiet.]

The Kyoshi Warriors are formidable - I'm glad they'll be protecting your nephew. He's definitely safe in their hands.

[His voice brightens when he talks about the poetry, moving away from the uncomfortable topic of people no longer here.]

And bad poetry is inspiring because when you steal it from a very angry poet, you can make him chase you -- or someone else -- across the village for the better part of the day.

Yes, I think so too. Though he is a formidable warrior in his own right.

[He has a certain pride that only a relative can have about that]

You sincerely enjoying angering people, don't you?

Yes, I met him briefly here - he seemed to be very bright.

And I don't enjoy angering people, but I do enjoy teasing them. It's just a fine line that sometimes the other person doesn't quite understand.

Well, try not to get yourself in too much trouble then.

[There were those who war far less forgiving then Iroh around. All things considered that was most people]

Should you meet my niece Azula or my brother Ozai I would be more wary. They do not take insults or teasing lightly.

[They likely would try to at the very least burn or kill depending on how offended they were]

With all the time in the world on my hands~? [Come on, Iroh, he may be an adult, but that doesn't mean he's boring.]
