[The morning had a dullness to it, a sort of dreariness that just seemed to make time go slowly. Even nature seemed to be having a hard time getting started today. The clearing in the forest was still and quiet, except for the stirrings of an old man who was slowly coming back into consciousness. He has a long beard, and a far receded hair line. Despite his age, he is well muscled individual. As his eyes slowly open he stretches a bit and winces. There is a moment or two as he gazes around his surroundings, taking everything in and sizing it up.]

This is certainly a strange place to wake up. I don't recall drinking any wine yesterday.

[He strokes his beard thoughtfully for a moment. He gives another wince and stretches his back a little. It is clear something strange has happened. It is then he turns his head for a second, and then startled turns it again]

Wings?! Since when do I have wings?!

[He shakes his head a second, and gives his cheek a pinch. It would seem he wasn't sleeping. When he had journeyed to the spirit world before he had maintained his shape, though that was the closest approximation he could make]

Mmmmm. I could use a cup of tea, and perhaps a bit of breakfast. Although I suppose that would be a bit much to ask.

[His gaze goes to the book which had a strange look to it, curiously he moved forward and taps it and... the feed cuts out]

That's the weird thing. For them, they think it's normal. They think our animals are the weird ones.

Yes, they come with membership to this particular enclosure. The wings are the work of the world, but the journals are a 'gift' from the Malnosso.

[There's a hint of the way she used to say 'Fire Nation' with the way she says 'Malnosso.']

The only good thing about an enemy like that is that there’s no reason to hold back against them. If you know without a doubt that they will annihilate you and even the children around you, the course of action is clear.

[Konan has no scruples whatsoever when it comes to taking down the Third Party. She doesn’t have a much more positive view of the Malnosso but she can acknowledge that they’re less single-minded in their purpose and that there’s some benefit to being more cautious and attempting to reason with them.]

I guess that's true. [Goodness knows, she hadn't believed a lot of the things she'd heard here - like just how impossible it was to get out of the barrier.] It does take some time to get adjusted, and even then things can get pretty surprising here.

I don't know if that's really the word I'd use... Events have certainly happened.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things considering all the other things I've been told it isn't that surprising. Still, I don't think it is something I will get used to anytime soon.

It is most unfortunate things have come down to that though. Does there destruction come with a purpose, or is it the purpose in itself?

[Simply killing and destroying for the sake of it was an absolutely insane state of mind to be in. Even Ozai destroyed with the purpose of controlling the world. Not a great deal better, but at least there was some other motive. Though truth be told, Ozai may have simply enjoyed the feeling of power and destruction.]

Most things are manageable given the right attitude.

Just about anything. ...Okay, that's really broad, but they can alter your memories, the setting, anything. It's usually temporary, but not long ago I thought I lived on the streets in a big city with no one but a dog as my companion.

I believe that's the purpose in itself. They believe it's wrong for us to exist.

[At least as far as she's been able to learn thus far. She hasn't studied them too much aside from their attack patterns and formations. She knows how they move and that like everyone else here, the wings are a vulnerable point on the body.]

How horrible. I see why they need to be defeated.

[It wasn't what he would choose, but it seems as though these enemies had to be destroyed]

I think if they allowed you to prepare for it, their experiments wouldn't be as successful. At least that's what I hear them called sometimes.
