Hello everyone, as some of you may remember, I had inquired about the interest of learning the wonderful game of pai-sho back a couple of months ago. It seemed there was at least a fair amount of interest in such a thing, so I am proceeding as if there were.

[He takes a sip of tea, placing it down delicately before continuing]

I would like to have the first learning day on the second of March. I haven't seen any holidays then, and it seems a good time for it. It will be held at the Welcome Center, and I hope that we shall have a great turn out. I humbly ask those who already are familiar with the game to come by and assist those who are learning.

[He inclines his head politely for such a request]

If anyone else would like to contribute a bit of time to help with set up, or perhaps some snacks, I would most appreciate it.

[He gives a kindly smile]

As for poetry, I think it's muuuch better when it's absolutely awful. Then it's both inspiring and hilarious.

I've heard of similar protection forces. Most recently the Kyoshi warriors became a sort of private protection force for my nephew.

[Kyoshi -- Suki. That memory brought up Sokka and for the briefest of moments, Souji is quiet.]

The Kyoshi Warriors are formidable - I'm glad they'll be protecting your nephew. He's definitely safe in their hands.

[His voice brightens when he talks about the poetry, moving away from the uncomfortable topic of people no longer here.]

And bad poetry is inspiring because when you steal it from a very angry poet, you can make him chase you -- or someone else -- across the village for the better part of the day.

If I'm honest, since I first arrived. I am always looking for new opponents, and if no one knows the game it makes it a rather difficult process.

Well from the responses I had to test the interest last time, I think it should be a pretty good turn out for the most part. I've made a few copies of a reference guide for playing, a cheat sheet if you will which describes each of the pieces, the set-up, and which constitutes a legal versus illegal move, and how victory is determined of course.

Pai sho is a game of all cultures and of differing people. There may be a lot of old men who play, but look at myself and Paku or Bumi. We are all different benders, with different styles of teaching and personalities.

I had thought of that for a tournament, but I would rather focus on learning for the first couple of times until people get a feel for the game.
